The widths are the inch size minus around 6mm for planing accross the board and around 3mm on the board thickness although wider planks progresivley loose extra mm on a 12" board you loose around 12mm. When it comes to wide and narrow flooring, we have a tendency to categorise these according to our life experiences. in the same way that we associate hats on women with weddings, we have a tendency to associate highly polished, narrow board wood flooring with formal settings (or, depending on your age, school gyms!).. The 14mm solid parquet width less than 110mm the engineered parquets 11/140 mm are suitable for use with a heating floor and new generation cooling floor. they have an anti-dew point..
The width of the floor board, the choice of species and the finish applied combine to give that natural touch desired. engineered t&g proflies engineered wooden flooring is composed of two or more layers of wood adhered together to form a plank.. Problem with 100 year old floorboards is that they tend to be brittle with age and have a certain amount of worm, so they break when you try to lift them, so t & g don't come up too often, but you might be lucky if you keep looking. and if you have to rip the m to width it's easily enough done with a circular saw.. Would appreciate some advice on this one: i need to replace some floorboards in my house (1930's) the existing tongue and groove floorboards don't seem to be the same size (width) as ones currently available at wickes, b&q etc. but are the same thickness (18mm approx)..
